Mr. Abhijit Pawar, Founder & Chairman, Delivering Change Foundation (DCF) and Managing Director, Sakal Media Group said that, “The Sakal International Learning Centre (SILC) will take the lead in skill development for start-ups under the ambitious Smart City project proposed by the Centre.”
“There are many opportunities for start-ups under the Smart City project. But for that, they need special skills. SILC will take the lead in imparting the skill development for the start-ups,” added Pawar.
The meet was convened at Balgandharva Rangmandir by DCF along with the Sakal Media Group and Pune Municipal Corporation, to make Pune the number one city in the race for the Smart City project.
According to Pawar, if different stakeholders join hands, the city’s problems can be solved unitedly. “The Smart City project is an opportunity for all of us to come forward and work in unison. If all stakeholders come forward and shoulder different responsibilities, we can make an impressive blueprint of the city’s development projects and execute them,” added Pawar.
Pawar explained to the gathering the Smart City concept and how Pune can move towards being a Smart City. He highlighted the good practices implemented by various cities across the world to make them smart cities. Pawar said that to solve various issues of the city and the state, Sakal Media Group has always taken the lead and has come up with initiatives like ‘Pune Bus Day’, ‘Sarvajal Abhiyan’ and Tanishka Foundation.
“All these initiatives were appreciated, both nationally and internationally,” Pawar said. He outlined the activities DCF is undertaking internationally and how the various organizations and world famous personalities have appreciated the initiatives taken both by DCF and Sakal Media Group. He appealed to city residents to come forward and be a part of the Smart City initiative. “In order to become a Smart City, people’s participation in Pune is important. Each citizen should contribute to make the city smart. We should all come together and prepare the sustainable planning for city,” he added.
